Wedding Photos: The table numbers
Here's the next installment of the stationery I created for our June wedding. Inspired by our amazing floral arrangements provided by The Watered Garden and our beautiful table furnishings from Mitchell's Catering, I took a cue from the varied greens to make double-sided table numbers with a pop of elegance. Using our wedding fonts Burgues Script and Bell MT, the table numbers added that extra touch of elegance.
These 14 table numbers are now on sale in our Etsy shop.

Wedding Photos: The escort cards
In the first installment of a series in which I'll show some of my favorite DIY projects from my own wedding, I'm starting with a photo of the escort cards I designed especially for this special occasion.
Using vintage images courtesy of The Graphics Fairy, I created one-of-a-kind escort cards for my guests. The cards were coded for the waitstaff so that they would know what meals to serve each guest: knife = beef, fork = chicken, spoon = vegetarian. Using my wedding theme fonts of Burgues Script and Bell MT, each card featured the guest's name, his/her table number, and the meal requested. With a special pearlized paper that can be printed on an inkjet and prefabricated placecards from LCI Paper, my girlfriends and I spent an early summer night slicing cardstock and assembling these with double-sided tape. I could not have been more proud of how they came out!
Stay tuned for more event pieces from my June 26 wedding!

Maria and Patrick's wedding program and signs
It is always a joy to work with my regular client Theresa, who does amazing event planning in the Atlanta area. For this project, we did a two-sided, single sheet wedding program for Maria and Patrick, who will be married shortly. Their gorgeous colors, magenta and silver, make a striking impression.
We also did a custom monogram to add to various pieces:
Finally, a matching sign to adorn the candy bar!

Alyssa and Travis's wedding program
Alyssa and Travis opted for a gorgeous orange and blue elegant two-page program based off of a piece I did years ago for Mindy and Vince. Alyssa opted for a tea-length program to accommodate the longer service. I am so pleased with the sophistication and classic elegance of these fonts and graphics!
Alyssa will print these on heavy cardstock for a lovely single sheet, double-sided program.

Catching up...
It's been quite a while since I've posted some updates on new and old work here at Custom Printables. Since I got married in June and have been setting up house and preparing for my honeymoon, the blog hasn't received much attention. But that doesn't mean I haven't been busy designing! Over the next few posts I'll share some of my favorite summer and fall projects. When I get back from Spain, Custom Printables will be back in business for more work!
First, here is Marisa and Jason's simple yet elegant one-page wedding program.

Danielle's Hebrew monograms
Danielle sent me a challenge to design her a monogram with Hebrew letters similar to the sample she found:
Well, I was certainly up for this one! I came up with three similar calligraphic designs to use for her wedding monograms with her new initials Dalet (which makes a D sound and is on the left side of the monogram), Yud (her husband's initial, which makes a Y sound, as in "you"), and Nun, the middle initial (an N sound).

Abisola's candy bar favors
Melanie and Gunner's programs
I worked closely with Melanie's mom Kathleen to create a kelly green and cornflower blue wedding program to match the theme colors of their May 21 wedding. You'll see the monogram is a recurring theme in my work (I used a similar version in my own wedding program on June 26). This Kentucky wedding was both fun and elegant!

Food signs and favor tags
I was so disappointed to have to miss out on the baby shower for one of my best friends, who will be having her first baby in early August. Her amazing friends in Philadelphia threw her a lovely Parisian-inspired shower, and I was thankful to be asked to design some pieces for the event! Eventually - after my own wedding! - I'll be converting these to a freebie printable with bonus items like an invitation, bunting, and more delights!
Thanks to Allison and Jane for being such amazing hostesses and including me in the festivities!

Sharon and Marc's Program
For the first time ever, I dabbled in assembling someone else's wedding programs - in preparation for my own wedding, I suppose! Sharon contacted me originally regarding the Printable Jewish Wedding Program available on Etsy, and asked me to take a step further by sending the completed project. What an exciting piece to work on!
After ordering the program, Sharon and I selected this beautiful card stock in "Tangy Orange" by Poptone, and decided to finish the program with a tie of raffia. This proved to be the perfect addition to Sharon and Marc's vineyard wedding in Virginia.
What an honor to be a part of such a special affair!

200th post and a Chapel Hill tribute
Although I currently work at Duke University, I have many dear friends (and a fiance!) who attended or work at that other school down Tobacco Road, aka University of North Carolina. I truly have a great affinity for UNC and Chapel Hill, and after my friend announced that she successfully defended her Ph.D. dissertation in Sociology, I created some personalized notecards for her using the ever-popular Carolina argyle. In that vein, I recently added a Carolina argyle Save the Date/Graduation announcement to my Zazzle shop for all to use! Click on the image below to reach the fully customizable announcement. (Note that the image below is a sample; fonts shown may not be available on Zazzle.)

Sadie's 4th Birthday
It's been my pleasure for the last three years to be able to design birthday party invitations for my "niece" Sadie, who is the daughter of one of my best friends (and wedding attendants)! Sadie's 4th birthday party will be a splashy water extravaganza in her backyard.
You can actually see how much Sadie's grown by looking at her past invitations!
Being an Independence Day baby, Sadie is all about the summer fun in the sun and water! Happy birthday from Auntie Val!

Amanda and Matthew's monograms
Amanda contacted me through the Custom Printables website for a pair of monograms in her wedding colors, Pure Violet and Pure Yellow Orange. Here are the Adele and Mira monograms. (I'd say she picked a great name in a fiance named Matthew!)
