Wedding Photos: The escort cards

In the first installment of a series in which I'll show some of my favorite DIY projects from my own wedding, I'm starting with a photo of the escort cards I designed especially for this special occasion.


Using vintage images courtesy of The Graphics Fairy, I created one-of-a-kind escort cards for my guests. The cards were coded for the waitstaff so that they would know what meals to serve each guest: knife = beef, fork = chicken, spoon = vegetarian. Using my wedding theme fonts of Burgues Script and Bell MT, each card featured the guest's name, his/her table number, and the meal requested. With a special pearlized paper that can be printed on an inkjet and prefabricated placecards from LCI Paper, my girlfriends and I spent an early summer night slicing cardstock and assembling these with double-sided tape. I could not have been more proud of how they came out!

Turquoise escort/place cards

Amber requested the Traditional place cards in all turquoise to match the Custom Printables Free Invitation Suite 2. I'm happy to offer this download for free at the Custom Printables website. Each card has two lines of text in the font BlackJack, which is available for download here.

Genny's escort cards

To carry the theme of elegance with her colors of purple and red, we used the familiar swirls and lines from Genny's program to create her escort cards. Below is a sample.

Wedding suite for Jasmine and Jeongcheol

After I completed a set of fabulous wedding designs for Jennifer's clients Mindy and Vince, she contacted me again for a new suite for Jasmine and Jeongcheol. Below you can find the completed pieces.

Wedding package for Mindy and Vince

Jennifer in Beverly Hills ordered an entire package of wedding items for her brother's marriage later this month. She was an excellent client who had a great sense of style and imagination, and together, we came up with some fabulous pieces.

Mindy and Vince's colors are orange, brown, and light green, and the entire suite is designed around the images found on PROGRAM3. The fonts used here are Lainie Day SH (script) and Justus (serif).

These escort cards were designed to fold over into tents. They were created in a PDF form,
so Jennifer can go in and type all of the personalized information she wants!
